Current Opportunities
This role will primarily be focused on supporting the day-to-day administration of Wealth Management Operations. Over time, however, the Wealth Management Licensed Associate will be delegated advisory duties and assigned households to provide investment advice and services too.
This opportunity will appeal to a pro-active, energetic and people-oriented individual committed to the delivery of exceptional service, active business development, and that is looking to pursue a career opportunity in Wealth Management.
This is not a remote work opportunity and will require the Wealth Management Licensed Associate to work in the Williams Lake branch environment from an office or other designated workspace as provided Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00PM.
The Wealth Management Licensed Associate will be responsible for:
Service Delivery
- Providing a high level of service delivery to members of the Credit Union and clients of WLDFS in the processing of a variety of financial and non-financial transactions and interactions.
- The Wealth Management Licensed Associate will be expected to follow directions as provided by the Manager of Financial Planning who the Wealth Management Licensed Associate will report too. A dotted line reporting relationship will also exist for accountability to individual Wealth Advisors during business operations.
- A checklist will be provided that the Licensed Wealth Management Associate will be expected to adhere to weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.
- The Wealth Management Licensed Associate will contribute to a positive team environment by working efficiently, professionally and in a friendly manner and establishing and maintaining a harmonious working relationship with all departments within the Credit Union.
- Must be able to work well independently as well as part of a team
- Must be able to handle highly stressful situations. Volatile markets will create stress and stress should be expected. Demands of the role, the regulators, and ongoing continuing education requirements will all require expert time management skills.
- Proactive: it is expected that the Wealth Management Licensed Associate will proactively seek new business, take initiatives and follow situations/scenarios through to their conclusions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and can recognize and prioritize issues while maintaining accuracy and always be in full compliance as required within firm and industry regulations.
- Accurately and in a timely manner record all interactions between clients, members and the Wealth Management team into the CRM software and notes system.
- Contributing to the success of business development initiatives through pro-active support of the Wealth Management business.
- With a positive purpose, improve our organization by sharing ideas and opinions, contributing to and building up communication in all directions and across all levels.
- The Wealth Management Licensed Associate will be required to be licensed to sell securities in the Province of British Columbia.
- To become licensed, if not licensed already, the Wealth Management Licensed Associate will be required to complete the Canadian Securities Course within 6 months of hire date and complete the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course within 12 months of hire date. Ongoing employment will be contingent upon acquiring the necessary licensing required for the role.
- To meet the regulators post registration proficiency requirements, The Wealth Management Licensed associate will be required to also complete the Wealth Management Essentials Course within 24 months of hire date for ongoing continuation of employment.
- On an ongoing basis The Wealth Management Licensed Associate will be required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of Continuing Education accredited courses each 2 Year CE cycle as dictated by the CIRO and complete a minimum of 10 hours of Compliance courses each CE cycle as dictated by CIRO. All courses will be required to be approved by Aviso Wealth for CE Credits accordingly and offered by recognized industry education providers.
The successful applicant must be self driven, have a strong desire to actively pursue a professional development plan, have a desire to work towards the completion of professional designations over time such as the PFP and CFP after licensing and also demonstrate a keen interest in business development.
Salary range $49,047.00 to $61,308.00, including benefits, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Williams Lake and District Credit Union’s Centralized Services is looking for a highly motivated team player to fill an on-call Facilities Support position.
The position requires the ability to assist the Facility Services Coordinator with more rigorous maintenance projects. Maintenance projects may require some evening and weekend work.
General duties will include projects involving moving heavy objects, shovelling sidewalks and general snow removal in winter. The position may be called upon to act as back-up during absences of the Facility Services Coordinator.
Experience in these types of duties will be an asset.
