Have you heard the old saying - and I mean really old saying - that goes "When in Rome, do as the Romans?"
Well, the same goes for money. "When in Rome, better have Euros."
Canadian currency is really only of value when in Canada. When you go to another country you have to buy
currency you can in use in that country. We call this exchanging.
When you want to exchange Canadian currency into another currency, you are going to run into exchange rates. You are actually selling Canadian
dollars and buying another currency. Currency from other countries is worth a different amount than Canadian
currency. So, if you hear "the Canadian
dollar is worth 90 cents US" what that means is that for $100 Canadian
dollars, you will receive $90 US dollars.
If you are traveling to a destination other than the United States you may need to visit us a couple of weeks in advance. Sometimes, we will have to order a different currency for you and this can take some time.
