Have you heard the old saying - and I mean really old saying - that goes "When in Rome, do as the Romans?"
Well, the same goes for money. "When in Rome, better have Lira."
Canadian money is really only of value when in Canada. When you go to another country you have to buy money you can in use in that country. We call this exchanging.
When you want to exchange Canadian money into another currency, you are going to run into exchange rates. You are actually selling Canadian Dollars and buying another currency. Money from other countries is worth a different amount than Canadian money. So, if you hear "the Canadian Dollar is worth 90 cents US" what that means is that for $100 Canadian Dollars, you will receive $90 US Dollars.
If you are going to a place other than the US you may need to visit us a couple of weeks in advance. Sometimes, we will have to order a different currency for you and this can take some time.
Give us a call – we'll help you get your travel money organized!
